Default Hot rumors from around the NFL

Giants looking to upgrade defense
Newark Star-Ledger
The Giants are taking a long look at former Dolphins CB Sam Madison, who visited with the team on Monday, says Star-Ledger writer Mike Garafolo. Recently bought out Redskins LB LaVar Arrington is another possibility.

Dolphins target Adams and Brees
Miami Herald
Having released stars Sam Madison and Junior Seau, Miami is now looking forward to free agency and appears interested in DT Sam Adams and QB Drew Brees, writes the Herald's Jason Cole.

Jets like Mangold
Bergen Record
Record staffer Randy Lange speculates that the Jets may try and move DE John Abraham to the Falcons in order to acquire Atlanta's draft pick (No. 15), which they may use to select Ohio State C Nick Mangold.

Plenty of choices for Bruce
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Post-Dispatch scribe Jim Thomas says Detroit, Houston and Washington are among the four teams that have already expressed interest in recent St. Louis salary cap casualty Isaac Bruce. However, both Bruce and the Rams are believed to be looking at a new deal to bring the veteran back to St. Louis.

Manuel set to join Packers
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
Journal Sentinel writer Bob McGinn is almost certain Green Bay will ink free-agent safety Marquand Manuel, formerly of Seattle, once the signing period finally begins.

well, we'll know if the Jets try and get a pick before us, cause right now, we're probably the team out front to get Mangold. The other stuff is interesting too. I can't wait to see who the Dolphins sign. I'd put money on them making the playoffs this season...

I think the Dolphins will definatly sign Brees, and I hope they make the playoffs and the Chargers take a few steps back with Rivers.

I hope that the Jets don't take mangold, because I really would like for him to wear the B&G.

Hate to be the bearer, but there will be no Mangold since the Steelers restructured Hartings and announced Okobi as his replacement, and there will be no Jamal Lewis after they restructured Duce.

"but the reality is that pittsburgh is glancing at him"

Link? Do you have an inside source?

Strange, the only place I have heard rumors of Jamal Lewis coming to the Pittsburgh Steelers or that the Steelers are taking him into consideration is on this site. The local media has not brought his name up at all and while I don't expect the Steelers FO to comment on any future FA decisions, they have not either.

When did the Steelers announce they were bringing Hartings and Okobi back?
Would like to see them pick between those 2 and use the savings to lock up Taylor or maybe try to keep Hope.
