Default Pittsburgh Vacation Suggestions, Anyone?

Aaawww yeah, baby! I got a Pittsburgh area vacation in the works for May. My first real vacation in almost 10 years!
I grew up in Vandergrift, PA, & will be spending some time there, but also want to spend some time in the city.
It's been years since I've been up there, so can you guys offer me any suggestions? I already have the incline on my list, & maybe Kennywood Park,& just walking around the city like I used to do when I skipped school, but I was wondering about some good Steelers sites. Good Steelers shopping!
Is there anything cool going on in the city between May 22 & 27? Any autograph signings?

Also, I want to treat myself on my final night there to a nice room at a bed & breakfast-just for the hell of it, because I love big old houses & antiques..can anyone offer any local suggestions for one of these?
I would also like to visit the Amish country, does anyone have any feedback on that? I know it's totally touristy of me, but I can't resist!

If they are in town...go to a Pirates game. If you have not been to PNC yet, go. It is beautiful.

Go shopping at the Waterfront down the road from Kennywood heading towards Sandcastle, if you have not been here in 10 years, it will blow your mind what they did to that area.

These are just my opinions. If I was visiting our city.........
I would start off by having breakfast at Margies in McKees Rocks (best breakfast in Pittsburgh).
I would then go to the Western Pa. sports and history museum in the Strip District. This is a must in my opinion. Specially if your a Steeler fan.
Since your already in the Strip, I would hit the original Primanti Bros. for lunch.
Waterfront or Shadyside for shopping.
The Strip, South Side or Station square for bars and clubs.
PNC for a ball game.
Carnegie Museum in Oakland, Western Pa sports and history museum, Andy Warhold Museum or the Science Center for learning.

For dinner:
Great steak houses: Ruth Chris or Morton's.
Great Italian: My three personal favorite.....Tambelini's on 51 (others stink). Del's in Bloomfield. Lombardozzi's in Bloomfield.

There is also Kennywood amusement park. For a nice view of the city is Mount Washington. The Pittsburgh Zoo. As for Amish country, I believe Lancaster is your destination...lol. There are some nice bed and breakfasts north of Pittsburgh but I'm not aware of any in or around Pittsburgh. Sorry.

If you have any other questions, please ask and I will do my best to answer.

You have to go to Station Square, the fountain should be running by the end of May.

There are some Amish communities north of 'da burgh,in the Meadville area about 2 hours. There are also some communities over in Ohio probably bout same distance away. THe ones in Ohio are a little more commercial and I know I have seen one that does or has a Bed and Breakfast business also. If you want more info let me know!!

Don't forget to go for a ride on one of the Gateway Clipper Boats!!

Thanks for the replies! Sorry it took so long to get back, my past 2 evenings have been busy, my excitement for tonight has been converting my fishtank to a system to grow live plants-what a mess!!
Anyway, I hate to sound like a total moron, but what is PNC?
Your suggestions sound pretty good, I will probably spend alot of time around the city-I don't remember alot about it, we moved away in 84 & since then I've only been back once.
I do remember coming from the airport, thru a tunnel, & seeing the city just opening up in front of me (coming out of the tunnel) like a rush. Just beautiful! I tried describing it to someone at work yesterday, but it's like if you have to explain it, they won't understand.
I've been away from the area for over 20 years & still get homesick.
I still love the PPG Tower & also want to revisit The Cathedral of Learning, too.

When they refer to PNC they are talking about the new Pirates stadium, espn rated it the best in the country. My favorite place to be in the Burgh, nothing like a twi-night double header...
