Mendenhall leads league in rush attempts/game
his 23 attempts per game is leading the league. he is fifth in total yards, third in yards per game and his 5 td's rank him tied for second.
it would seem arians grasps the concept that most of us already knew.... when art rooney II said he needed to run the ball more effectively, what he really meant is they need to run the ball MORE.
the steelers rush 31.6 times/game and pass 21.6/game. as the season goes on, we will probably see that even out to the more 50-50 balance so many fans (and rooney) want and know is successful.
the good thing is the steelers qb's are throwing at a 62% completion rate. while good, this will go up with ben. also, they are averaging 8.0 yds/att which is right in line with their average under ben, and is 2nd best in the league behind the chargers.

As the games go by and Ben is back for a little bit that will all change. If the Steelers Run the ball more than 52 or 53% it will Surprise me for sure.
