Jeff Reed kicked a game-winning 18-yard field goal with less than three minutes remaining to give the AFC North-leading Pittsburgh Steelers the 23-22 win over the Miami Dolphins in south Florida. Ben Roethlisberger shined again in his second start of the season, completing 19-of-27 passes for 302 yards and two touchdowns, as the Steelers improve to 5-1 on the season and remain perfect on the road.

Ben Roethlisberger Passing vs 5+ DBs
This Season
Week 6 Sunday
Comp-Att 8-15 17-23
Yds per att 7.0 11.5
TD-Int 2-1 2-0
Passer rtg 87.5 140.5

In his debut last weekend, Roethlisberger had trouble finding a rhythm when the Browns put five-or-more defensive backs on the field, completing only 53.3 percent of his passes with an interception. He was able to shake off the rust on Sunday, though, averaging over 11 yards per attempt and throwing two touchdowns when the Dolphins used at least five defensive backs.

The Steelers allowed a season-high 22 points, but did a good job of neutralizing the Dolphins rushing attack, holding them to just 64 yards. Pittsburgh’s base 3-4 defense – which was on the field for 13 of the Dolphins 21 total rushes - got the job done, allowing a meager two yards per carry and only two first downs in the game.
