after 6 games and watching the injuries mount , what do you see as the priority areas. the steelers have quite a few contracts expiring, and you can't keep everybody.
Dennis Dixon Mewelde Moore Matt Spaeth Willie Colon Tony Hills Trai Essex Chris Hoke LaMarr Woodley Keyaron Fox Ike Taylor William Gay Jeff Reed Daniel Sepulveda of course the steelers go with BPA , but whats your priority list ? what positions would you like to see addressed ? after looking at a few sites , and their opinions of the top talent coming out this year. so far it looks like a weak class for Olinemen and DB'S , but a descent group of Dlinemen especially 3-4 DE's, with a few NT's sprinkled in. ( when i say weak , i mean 1st and 2nd round projections ) of course it's impossible to predict what guys like smith , kiesel, hoke, and hampton have left in the tank , but you can't ignore their age year after year, and sooner or later you got to make a roster spot for their future replacement. my list goes 1 NT - Hoke has done a great job when called upon , but he'll be 35 in april. and hampton will be 34. possible additions via walterfootball rankings Jerrell Powe, NT, Ole Miss Height: 6-2. Weight: 330. Projected 40 Time: 5.35. Projected Round (2011): 1-2. 10/8/10: Powe's stock is on the decline this season. He's trying to prove he is a gap-shooting 3-technique. Instead, his coaching staff should let him be an immoveable object at the line of scrimmage. Powe needs to play with more power and be an anchor on the line. Sione Fua, NT, Stanford Height: 6-2. Weight: 308. Projected 40 Time: 5.19. Projected Round (2011): 2-3. 10/8/10: Fua has been a very active player this year for Stanford and I love how he stack and sheds blocks. He does a great job of taking on blocks and freeing up his linebackers to make plays. His stock is on the rise this season. http://walterfootball.com/draft2011NT.php Kendrick Ellis, NT, Hampton Height: 6-5. Weight: 340. Projected 40 Time: 5.41. Projected Round (2011): 3-4. 10/8/10: Ellis has all the physical talent, but he has some work ethic concerns and isn't very consistent in games. 5/8/10: Kendrick Ellis dominted Division 1-AA football, notching 15 TFL as a junior. 2 DE - eason is ok as a rotation guy , but he's never going to be an aaron smith or even a brett kiesel. i'd love to see them get a DE thats a good pass rusher as well as a run stopper. i think we may end up with another DE in the first round walters DE rankings http://walterfootball.com/draft2011DE3-4.php 3 OT - i'm all but certain someone will pay colon more than the steelers will. http://walterfootball.com/draft2011OT.php 4 CB - mcfadden is nothing but a stop gap. he had a dozen descent games in his career thanks to a great pass rush forcing quick throws. if you need further proof of the theory, look no further than gays success as bmacs replacement for the other 4 games. how much money is the steelers willing to offer ike ? http://walterfootball.com/draft2011CB.php

As far as nose tackles, is it more important to get a guy with a catchy last name (can't you just here the color commentators shouting "Powe!" every time he bullrushes someone?) or to replace Casey Hampton with someone who played at Hampton? You know... for continuity. Personally, I like saying Sione Fua. I'm certain that's a really bad thing to say about someone else's mother in Samoan or Serb or some language somewhere.
![]() As far as their playing ability, who cares about that? This is the new, improved, Goodell-approved NFL. We'll get our pleasures where we can find them. |

Suisham's perfect so far. Even if he produces similar results to Reed, there's other pluses to him. Besides, drafting kickers is such a waste. How many great undrafted kickers have there been in NFL history?
