Default Bye, Bye Jeff Reed

Another missed field goal and terrible kickoffs. Indoors nonetheless!! Must have been partying too hard on Bourbon street the night before!!

Say Goodbye Jeff, enjoy your time, and don't let the door hit you on the way out!

I used to love Reed but the last couple years he hasnt been very reliable. I think I am thinking the same way you are right now.

I'm not a big Reed booster but I don't fault him for 51 yarder misses.

Yeah, same here. I think he'll be gone at the end of the season, but it will have nothing to do with missing a 51 yard FG last night.

Some people have acted like kicking those in a dome are just gimmies lol.

Anywho, plenty of other reasons they lost last night...Jeff Reed played a very insignificant role in that loss IMO.

I think what it was though, he was consistent on the 50 yarder goals but he lost that touch... that's why it's looking to be bye bye to him now if he don't start nailing the field goals he should be making...

Who are you going to get to replace him. The rest of the league hasn't been too successful in finding FG kickers either. Anyone wanna try out??

What percentage of the blame falls on the coaches who, knowing how inconsistent he's been, decided to kick the long field-goal, with full knowledge that if he missed they'd be giving their opponent GREAT field position?

A hell of a lot. That was a horrible decision. Perfect opportunity to pin the Saints deep and probably save a scoring drive...but noooo.

Late in the game I'd have no problems with that attempt, but at the point in the game that it happened, when you have a lead (albeit a 3 point lead...but still), you don't gamble like that.

Had he made it, I would have been happy of course...but I'd still think it was a completely idiotic decision.

Some of the blame falls on the offense there too...that drive turned pathetic once they hit midfield. 5 more yards could have been the difference between a 3-3 game and a 6-0 game.

I agree that it is a little hard to fault Reed completely for missing the 51 yarder (as soon as 3rd down ended I said "punt the ball" and the end result is exactly why). That being said, he is a professional kicker and the domed conditions make the miss a little less bearable. I like Reed a lot as he has traditionally been pretty consistent...but...would love to have someone that could kick the ball into the endzone on kickoffs as well. Adi Kunalic anyone? Just sayin'.

All great points people!! But what about his KICKOFFS??Maybe Sepulveda can reach the endzone? He seems to have lost all confidence!! Horrible play calling once again before the half cost us points!!
