Default Harrison, NFL commissioner meet to discuss policy on hits

Steelers linebacker James Harrison met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in New York on Tuesday to discuss the league's new stringent policy on illegal hits, but the meeting was not an appeal hearing on the $75,000 fine Harrison received for a hit on Cleveland Browns wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi.

It was not clear who requested the meeting with Goodell, but Harrison was accompanied to New York by Steelers director of football operations Kevin Colbert.

Bill Parise, Harrison's agent, characterized the meeting as "an exchange of ideas and an opportunity for both sides to learn and grow."

So what we have here is a teachable moment

Wonder who handled security for the meeting - Tessio?

Is Goodell still alive after this meeting? Too bad if he is. Silverback should have spiked him like he did Vince Young.

I agree these types of meetings should have taken place before all the fines were handed out.

Harrison apparently did not feel the love during today's meeting

"Yeah, I spoke my mind; they said what they had to say,'' Harrison said after practice today. "We had a semi-productive meeting, I guess.''
