Football rivalries help to catapult the NFL over leagues such as the MLB or the NBA. Sure, Yankees fans hate Red Sox fans, but the two teams face off against each other roughly 62 times during the regular season. The whole shtick is a little tired come September. NFL rivalries never get old, though, even if your team is headed toward the first pick in next year's draft by Christmastime. An unsuccessful football season can be saved just by defeating that one hated rival.
