Heavily-fined Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison(notes) wants Oakland Raiders defensive end Richard Seymour(notes) to be fined and suspended for hitting Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger(notes) in the facemask and knocking him down.
“I hope he would hear from the league a lot worse than what I did,” Harrison told FOX Sports. “I’m playing the game within the whistles. What he did was way outside of it.” Seymour was ejected from the game, and Harrison thinks he should be suspended. “I don’t see why not,” Harrison said. “The guy’s celebrating with his teammates and you punch him in his face.” Roethlisberger bumped into Seymour from behind during a touchdown celebration. And Seymour responded during the touchdown by sending Roethlisberger flying to the ground with one hit. “It blew my mind,” Roethlisberger said. Seymour's explanation wasn't too convincing. “There was a lot ongoing,” Seymour said. “You’re out there to protect yourself. But, still, no excuse. I’m not sure exactly what happened on the play. I just turned around and he just ran up on me quick. It was just a natural reaction.” One that will cost him dearly in terms of a fine, if not a suspension from the league office. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slu...cherreport.com |

it is PATHETIC! In the morning on NFL network Deion Sandres was saying that's at least a $100,000 fine. More like only a quarter of that! The bum should have been fined a 100 grand and suspended. If it was one of our guys being a bitch and smacking a QB, ANY QB, they would have been fined royally and suspended.

I bet he only fined him because Harrison said he should be suspended. I'm sure Harrison will be fined more and suspended for his legal hit.

It's crap is what it is. if it had been Harrison hitting Brady, he'd probably not just fined more than 25 K but also probalby suspended. Seriously, if you're going to be lame NFL be consistent. Heck at first if you guys recall, it was Tommie Kelly who was going to be ejected intially by the refs. It's just ridiculous nonsense.
