I noticed it said he can play inside or outside. I like what it says about him........
Strengths: Has great size...Strong and tough...Has good speed and the quickness to make plays sideline-to-sideline...Has a fiery demeanor on the field...Very instinctive...Motor never stops...A playmaker and very productive...Versatile and could project to either outside or middle linebacker at the next level. Weaknesses: Really struggles in coverage...Not a tremendous natural athlete...Has had some off the field problems and was suspended for punching a teammate...Durability might be a concern after suffering a serious knee injury prior to starting college...Needs to work on his technique and show better discipline. Notes: Nickname is "Goo"...Unheralded player who didn't get the attention he deserves because he played for a bad team his entire career...One of the best prospects Temple has produced in a long time.

Thin at linebacker, that's where the Steelers went with their fifth-round pick. They drafted junior Rian Wallace of Temple with the 166th pick.
Wallace played inside linebacker for the Owls and was all-Big East in 2004. But he also was suspended for their game against Pitt because he was involved in a fight in his own locker room. Some NFL teams project Wallace as an outside linebacker, but the Steelers will try him on the inside first. They have starters James Farrior, Larry Foote and backup Clint Kriewaldt on the inside. There is some highlight film on Rian Wallace in the Draft Domicile. He looks like a very solid LB.

In Sporting News Draft Edition says his draft status is the sleeper. Says "The underclass prospect is quick, instinctive, and relentless in pursuit." His NFL comparison was Derek Smith of the 49ers. The Bottom Line it says "Wallace finished 2004 with 101 tackles but slumped in tackles for loss and passes broken up. He has good size, strength, and instincts, and he has adequte straight line speed. With good workouts he could improve his status." If you guys want to hear more from this magazine I'll post their information on Heath Miller, Fred Gibson, Byrant McFadden, and more on Rian Wallace. They have no information on Trai Essex. Let me know and I'll post more.

seeing his size being a little small and hes pretty fast, maybe he could get moved to safety like Tsiomonia or w/e from the rams to give us more depth at the SS or FS spot for Polamalu and Hope

A fast LB works for us, with everyone going to a 3-4 LB will be harder to come by.

Pittsburgh Steelers ? Temple linebacker Rian Wallace is one of the worst point of attack players that I've ever evaluated on film through the years.
This from Brian Delucia FoxSports writer

well hes gonna learn from the best, farrior and porter. Dick LeBau too. He's only a rookie. it's not like hes gonna do anything besides special teams for the first 2-3 years if we sign him
