Steelers vs. Bills: Inside the Game
http://www.timesonline.com/sports/sp...-the-game.html By: Mike Bires Beaver County Times Saturday November 27, 2010 11:39 PM SERIES HISTORY The Steelers hold an 11-8 lead in regular-season play but usually the home team wins. The Steelers are 7-1 in games played in Pittsburgh, but just 4-7 in Buffalo. The Steelers have won their last three games against the Bills and have not lost to them since 1999. In the last meeting between these two teams, the Steelers won 26-3 at Heinz Field in 2007. In the last game they played in Buffalo, the Steelers won 29-24 in the ‘04 season finale. That game marked the first time RB Willie Parker rushed for over 100 yards. Parker had 102 that day while subbing for Jerome Bettis as coach Bill Cowher rested many starters on a team that finished 15-1. The Steelers are 2-1 against the Bills in playoff games. TODAY’S STORYLINE The Steelers want to keep pace with the Ravens (also 7-3) in the AFC North. While the Ravens had a tough test at home today against the Buccaneers (7-3), the Steelers must be wary of the Bills, who’ve won their past two games after an 0-8 start. INJURY REPORT Steelers WR/KR Antonio Brown is out with a knee injury. Listed as doubtful is backup TE Matt Spaeth, who sustained a concussion last week. SS Troy Polamalu is questionable with an Achilles tendon strain. Advertisement Click Here Bills Starting G Eric Wood is out with an ankle. Listed as questionable are starting CB Terrence McGee (knee) and backup RB C.J. Spiller (hamstring). QUOTEWORTHY “To be honest, I didn’t know we were playing Baltimore next week. That’s been our mindset, one week at a time. Last year overlooking Kansas City, overlooking Oakland, that’s the reason we were on a five-game losing streak." Hines Ward Steelers WR on guarding against a so-called “trap” game in Buffalo BETTING LINE The Steelers are favored by 6½. PREDICTION Steelers 24, Bills 14 |
