I dont think Pats, Bolts or Steeler fans have too much to be concerned about regarding their high placing on the 'loser list'.
Lets face it, we have enough good news to keep us happy - we all have teams that are going to challenge for honors in the strongest conference in football. Lists like this exist to keep the discontented fans happy - fans of Arizona and Washington who probably wont have too much to shout about come week 10 of the regular season. Another reason for these 'wacky' lists is that, should one of Pittsburgh, New England or San Diego have a poor season - this writer can point you back to this article and tell you he 'told you so'. They've been great for a while now, three Super Bowls' worth of great. Suddenly, the Patriots are not simply great; they're compelling, fascinating, appearing to be almighty and a touch lawless. The Patriots didn't bother with swagger to start this NFL season; they went straight to defiant. Either you're one of them or you're about to get crushed. |

Its like they are suggesting that San Diego is going out of their way to actually lose next year by not bringing back their starting QB. Its a damn shame that he got injured, and I have wished him well for the future (esp as he is not a Dolphin) - but they have a high Draft pick QB cooling his heels on the bench. To say that the Chargers gamble 'must pay off' is slightly ridiculous - the Chargers obviouslty felt that sticking with Brees would have been the riskier option - plus Rookie QB's shouldnt be automatically expected to win 10 or 11 games. Despite all the talk of how great San Diego did last year - they didnt make the playoffs, and were out of the running before the last week - its not like they are ripping apart a multiple SB winning team here......
