Default Steelers' Horrible QBs

So I was trying to find out who the worst QB of all time was. I found a list, based on statistical calculations, which considers foremost adjusted yards per attempt. These guys made their teams lose more often than not. I was shocked to find 7 former Steelers. That means 1 of every 5 horrendous QBs (roughly) played for the Steelers at some point. Makes you appreciate Ben that much more. No matter what their defenses, running backs, etc. did for them, these guys found ways to nullify their efforts. The Steelers QBs started 234 out of 345 games (68%) between 1981 and 2002. Their combined record: 123-111 (.526).

Player Name Value Career Attempts

7. Mark Malone -2146 1648

10. Kordell Stewart -1676 2358

26. Todd Blackledge -1114 881

32. Mike Tomczak -1030 2337

34. David Woodley -970 1300

45. Bubby Brister -861 2212

46. Kent Graham -849 1340

The starters for the other games between 1981 and 2002 went like this:
Terry Bradshaw 15-9
Cliff Stoudt 9-6
Scott Campbell 0-2
Steve Bono 2-1
Neil O'Donnell 39-22
Jim Miller 0-1
Tommy Maddox 7-3-1

Combined record: 72-44-1 (.649)
[I know this amounts to 117, but that's what pro-football-reference tells me]
Anyways, the point is, no matter how good a team might be, it is nothing without at least a competent quarterback. Also makes you wonder how many more wins the Steelers might've been able to pick up in the 1984-1990 and 1996-2002 had they had a better signal-caller.

there was a lot of em. brister to lipps was entertaining at times though

brister would have been good if he'd be more consistent. one game he'd throw for 4 td's, and the next game he'll throw 4 INT's. he played good for the broncos though which makes me think maybe he wasn't that bad of a qb, just (at the time) was around a weak squad. i mean all we had was louis lipps, after that was guys like dwight hands of stone.

of the time i've been a fan the worst was graham. kordell a lot of people would say, but graham got benched in favor of kordell which makes him worse. shame though I was a fan of slash, wish he coulda at least won us one cause he doesn't seem like a bad guy.

tommy was average. became hero status in pitt for a little while just because we were so used to seeing below standards qb play from kordell for so long.

tomczak wasn't starter material but i thought he was a serviceable backup

neil o'donnell was a good qb. we would have won at least 1 sb if he didn't run off to the jets, possibly.

Where the heck is Cliff Stoudt on this list, for my money the worst QB I have seen in the past 35 years!!

I thought Tomzak's hit in Tennessee made him think about selling insurance again. I thought the Mark Malone years were pretty hard.

I'm still scratching my head and drinking an immense amount of alcohol in trying to find out why in the world Cowher went out to aquire Kent Graham in 2000.

Malone is the worst I remember. Kordell had a nice year or two. Brister was okay and O'donnell was legit but wimped out after losing the SB! Malone had one okay year at 11-5 and then was absolutely terrible every other year.

Passing on Marino didn't help.

You are getting Tommy Maddox mixed up with Mike Tomzak.

We have atleast 2 more rings with BR7 AT QB instead of Kordell.
