Whiz lost about 25 points off his football IQ when Kurt Warner retired and compounded the problem when his issues with Leinart caused him to go with Browns reject Derek Anderson

QBs make coaches look better - coaches do not make QBs look better (Exhibit A being Arians record with and without #7)

He may have more clout, but he doesn't have more wins! That is where it counts.

Not sure how you measure Clout anyway.

I vaguely remember this thread. Pretty funny how things have turned out for Whiz and the Cards, but tough to win with no QB in the NFL. Their roster has been pretty decimated by departures, not injuries. They are not a franchise that can sustain excellence. They just tinker around enough where they may get a 2-3 year run of success, then it's back to the scrap heap for them.

As for the clout thing, that was B.C. time, this is the A.D. era now at the boards isn't it.

When the Cardinal's irrationally lose patience and fire the Wiz after the season is up, I hope the Steelers bring him back in as OC to replace the freshly fired Bruce Arians. (I know, it's not really going to happen that way!)

It's an insider thing...lol A former member of this board posted in the preseason that Wiz had more clout than Tomlin. Most of us didn't agree. After what has happened this season, I just thought it would be fitting to mention it.

Those who remember should get a kick out of it. lol

If you remember in the original thread, I stated that the HC and QB is like a marriage. Tomlin is tied to Ben and Wiz was tied to Warner and I predicted what would happen.

I agree it doesn't mean he is bad. You can't really judge a coach without a QB.

(P.S. Still no black pants by the Cards...lol)

That would be funny but I think Wiz has too much ego to come back. I don't think Tomlin would want someone looking over his shoulder. Maybe a year out of football would humble him.
