The funny thing is, I didn't make the dumb pick, and I didn't make the stupid trade of Drew Brees, but I'M the ******* for pointing it out.
i still dont know what the steelers would have done if d. robinson, d. hall or both had been on the board when they picked. that year (like most years) no one really knew what direction the steelers were leaning but im willing to bet the steelers knew both would be gone. is it just a coincidence ben showed up to draftday in a black suit and golden tie?

its almost as if the steelers told him "youre gonna be there, and were gonna take you".

I may well be in a minority here but I think you have to give Rivers a better than average chance of making it in the NFL.

Sure, there are always busts - and the higher the draft pick the bigger the bust.

But I dont think that the mistake he made by holding out in his rookie year should be held against him forever.

I think if Rivers can be adequate then the Chargers have enough talent on both sides of the ball to make the playoffs this year.

The Patriots didn't bother with swagger to start this NFL season; they went straight to defiant. Either you're one of them or you're about to get crushed.

sure, just like last year, although next year it could just as well be at the expense of the patriots in a tie breaker.

You gotta give him at least a couple years of starting before you can label him a bust

Rivers has got plenty of splinter's in his ass I think he can't wait to take the bull by the horns BUT theres a big difference seeing it from the sidelines and actually being in there where the speed of the game will probably rattle him.Thats the moment where you will see whether he will be a bust or not, there is not to many rookies who can handle that and yes he is still a rookie until he proves otherwise.

I can understand the holdout, your not guaranteed anything in this league and he has to think about his family. He seems llke a family first type of guy which makes me hope he does well

That's the thing though!! The Chargers with Brees (even coming off an injury) still had a respectable shot for a decent playoff run in the '06 season.
Now they have to wait for an undetermined amount of time for Rivers to develop in order to make a contribution to the team.

IMO defenses will be frothing at the mouth this year to get at and kill Rivers and he's going to get a rude awakening along with the Chargers FO for making such a bone headed decision.

BTW-Who is the Chargers back-up to Rivers.....is it A.J. Feeley??
I bet that's a real comfort.
