We used it in the first half a little bit, kept them back on the heels. We didn't use it again till the final drive.
Why why why, Ben wants to use it, the players obviously can handle it. It tires out the defense and is 100% to our advantage. Call the play at the line, but limit the D;s sub packages. Get the D sub package you want than use the no huddle against them. Yet Arians comes up with excuses that we have 3-4 rookies? Which is why we can't use it. the playing calling seems to get worse and worse, the endzone call, come on. Arians would've been fired on the spot. Take 3 steps back to move and no only that, we dont use mendy on it. We use the lighter Moore when 9 out of 10 times teams will run! It wasnt a surprise we ran, it was a shock we used the 3rd down back. |

i agree.
Another thing is that when we do run the no-huddle, i wish we'd do it quicker. I've noticed, that even when we do it, we still allow for a long count, allowing opposition a good look at how we're set. |

Ed Bouchette, who is ripping Arians in PG+ today, said the delay with the no huddle was due to the superior intellect of Bruce Arians
On the final drive, when the Steelers were trying to race the clock, Bruce Arians kept sending in different packages, which took up valuable time as players ran on and off the field. How about picking one and sticking with it to conserve time? http://plus.sites.post-gazette.com/i...-town/steelers I will post Bouchette's extensive observations on the performance yesterday by Blame Someone Else Bruce in the Fire Arians thread |

You can rush the no huddle, but the point is to halt the sub packages. They can rush to the line, but than call or change up the play. But once Ben moves to a point the mic in his helmet gets shut off anyway. But in all honestly, I'm not so sure that the QB is the play caller in that instance anyway. Ben is smart enough to know what is working and whats not at that point and to make the call.
Arians just wants to get credit for a winning drive as opposed to Ben calling the shots. BA is not ever going to be a head coach, no matter how many SB's Ben wins. |
