Default "Steelers upset Panthers, 27-3." Really? An Upset?

http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/10357/1113141-100.stm

I didn't get the headline at all. Were we supposed to lose to Carolina? Is the journalist using the word "upset" to mean defeat? Does he know that "upset" was the name of a horse that wasn't supposed to win and did and ever since then, that word was used to describe an underdog that won. Were we the underdog in this game?

I don't understand it either...

But let's hope for the upsets of Browns over the raves this Sunday...

If not, then beat the Clowns...

He is using "upset" to mean defeat. I've seen it used like this before.
