Default If James Harrison retired today

would he make the hall of fame?

If no, what more would it take?

I say 1 or 2 more 10-sack seasons get him in automatically.

But, He is 32 or 33, not sure how many seasons he has left.

Because he got such a late start, it's unlikely he will ever make the HOF,
unless he has 2 more Super Bowls as he did in 2008. One of the things
that is almost a must to make the Hall os longevity. In my opinion, his current
play, in his prime is better than virtually any LB not named LT, but he will
only have a few seasons of awesome play to show for it, and it won't be
enough. If you don't have 6+ probowls, it's very hard to make it.

No, he needs a couple of more dominant years.

I highly doubt it. Everything prior to 2008 is going to piss away his odds of getting into the HOF. Unless he just stays lights out for the rest of his career and even then its a slim chance.

Yes he has a chance, but I think it'll take some time before he will be inducted. He can get 6 pro bowls if he continues like this.

Yea, he's not even close to HOF material, he'd have to go a LONG time in addition to now......plus he's definitely not a media + sports writer darling and would probably never get the votes

I would have to say no. This is only an opinion, but I think the NFL when it comes to the hall of fame is very stat driven. I guess they want to make sure each player who gets in puts together a long and successful career instead of players who dominate in a 5 year stretch.
I don't usually follow much of the voting or even the ceremonies though, so I'll be the first to admit I'm talking out of my a#$. It's just the basic feeling I get from the little discussion I do follow on the topic.

However, Harrison is in fact a monster, and very much better than Ray Lewis. Maybe not the media's version of Ray Lewis, who could catch bullets in his mouth, or beat a grizzly bear at arm wrestling, or...etc,etc.

He's only had 4 years as a starter. As ridiculous as he's played in that small amount of time, I'm thinking he needs another 4 seasons at his current pace.

He has virtually no shot of ever making the Hall or Fame. Unless he can continue to play at this level until he's 37 or 38. LB's just don't do that.

He's only been a starter like 4 years. The way he's slowing down, I don't think he'll be dominant enough for the remainder of his career to be HOFer. He'll be remembered for a long time after he leaves though.
