Mangold and Carpenter are probably the safest picks as far as both should be low risk- solid NFL players.
Whitner and White are close as well. Any of the four I could live with as well as Lawson. From a need standpoint I probably would go with White or Whitner. and if it is just a want then Lawson gets my nod. |

I went with Nick Mangold because out of those players he would be the one I would choose because Carpenter and Bing will not be left and the others I have question marks on.

I know Mangold, whom I picked, would be a boring choice. But we have seen the Steelers draft big O linemen early before, and although it seemed boring, we always have a damn good line

I heard Bing projected going as late as the early second round so he could still be there when the Steelers are up.

i have always said that we will draft a DE/ LB and lawason fits what we do perfectly and he would step in when either Haggins or Porter leave free agency. Would be a perfect fit if the Steelers go that way... if White is available and Lawson is available .. will be tough call.. i feel the others will be gone by our pick

BUT I've been a Lendale White blow-hard for a while though so he got my vote. As a true freshman he averaged 5.3 yds on 141 carries. As a sophomore he averaged 5.4 yds on 203 carries. After his sophomore season he had 31 TD's (28 rushing) the most by any player in USC history. As a junior he averaged 6.7 yds on 197 carries and added another 24 TDs. The numbers only really really jump out when you consider he had to share the rock with none other than Reggie Bush. And to make history scoring touchdowns at USC you have to outscore Marcus Allen, OJ, Charles White and Reggie Bush. And he did it making good tacklers look sophomoric. |
