Default Jets fan here: question for Steelers fans

Hi all, first of all I just wanted to introduce myself and say that I'm really excited for this weekend's game, although I REALLY hope that this game will be different from the last time the Jets played in Pittsburgh in the playoffs. Pretty much every Jet fan has nothing but respect for the Steelers, and we all expect a good game.

My question for you fans is this: how would you, as a Steeler fan, recommend attacking the Steelers defense?

I've watched a lot of Steelers games this year, and it seems like the only team with a lot of success against Pitt was the Patriots, and their TEs had a field day. The announcers were talking about Polumalu's tendency to gamble on pass routes, but I'm not sure if that's the case. I have a feeling the Jets will struggle to run the ball, and Ike Taylor will effectively cover either Braylon or Santonio, and Timmons will probably cover Keller.

So, my question is this: If you were the Jets OC, what would you do to try an score points against the Steelers. Assuming the Jets OL can do its job in pass protection, (like it did last time they played) how can the Jets move the ball and score points?

He would need to bury his head in the sand and hope that the Jet's STs and defense can score some points. The Steelers defense is going to shut the Jet's soso offense completely down. Bank on it.

Well I don't know how you will beat the defense. The Patriots didn't necessarily beat us, it was because we never rushed Brady a lot is that he had time and he just destroyed us. It would have to come down to ST and Defense for you guys. Can you get in good field position and can you stop our drives.

Steelers defenses weakness is the sidelines and come back routes. Steelers cornerbacks play so off, recievers can run 5 yards, and stop, and catch the ball. Easy gain.

Tightends can attack the middle of the field with success but the defense has so many different looks, its very hard to tell what the coverage will look like.

Having 2 reciever routes cross each other, steeler defensive backs have always gotten beaten by this because of how far they play off, they tend to bump into one another.

Everything you are saying is exactly what the Raven fans said to us. They too are also short yardage WR's, and crossing and slant WR's. And they said Todd Heap would kill us going over the middle against us...Ah...how exactly did that turn out ?

Yeah, I thought so

Anything short of a squadron of F-18's would pretty much be a waste of time.

I'm sure the jets have little problem with it coming down to defense and special teams.

The Jets offense is very balanced, and the keys for them vary very little no matter what defense they are up against. It will all be about the Jets ability to establish some sort of running game, and Sanchez getting comfortable.
