Default Who would we most likely pass on?

Out of the three players we seem to talk about the most. Come Saturday when the 32nd pick is up, if Carpenter is available he is a definite Steeler.
How about Ko Simpson, if there is he with us?
Lendale White, is there any chance at all that we would pass on him if he were still there?

Any thoughts ?

My guess? Say all 3 are there, I think the Steelers have their draft board as:

Carpenter
White
Simpson

I don't think the first 2 will be there though. And if it comes down to a Darnell Bing versus a Ko Simpson, I think they take Simpson.

ive been pondering the same question. our debates would be so much more heated if we were drafting 20th and say:
white
carpenter
lawson
mangold
simpson
holmes,

were there (the order listed is how i think they appear on the steelers depth chart) i agree with suit that simpson would be the odd man out but i also agree that it wont come to that and simpson may be the best player available that fits an immediate need. i dont know about drafting the 3rd or 4th safety in the first round but the nlf has evolved to alot more nickel and dime packages. it is up to the steelers to be ahead of the curve. our focus on our secondary has definitely paid off in the past 2 years. the steelers know what they are doing.

passing on larry johnson doesnt sting so bad if you land a troy polamalu. (and win a sb to boot)

Im just not sold that much on us taking a LB in the first round... from the way the FO has been talking and everything Ive read lately. Our LB is as good as any we've ever had. James Harrison and Andre Frazier are solid backups, Rian Wallace is coming along nicely.. we could use alittle help in the middle though for more depth.

WR and RB worry me more depth wise than anything.. if both are there, its a toss up. take your pick.

Drew is too small, he's small than famous amos, and Riggs has not stayed healthy in Tennesee, though he does have interesting potential, unless caprenter falls to us if white is on the board you have to draft white he's going to be a dominate RB in the NFL

The more I think about it, Moss is something you could see us passing on. In our quest for the "big" WR..which by the way we proved you dont have to have to be successful, especially when you have a Heath Miller in your arsenal. It would tough to pass on Moss but if you're gonna get another WR and you have 2 good starters now and a great TE. Why not go for the RB and try and get a good WR in the 2nd round or so, instead.

wr randle el is easier to replace than bettis. i dont think we spend a 1st round pick on a #3wr and a kick returner. if thats the case just trade out of the position.

i say draft a rb over wr if were limited to that with the 1st pick. im also thinking that all the teams switching to the 3-4 may have inflated 1st round lb's and de's in this years draft. along with the teams that just need a good lb. spending the #32 pick may be too much for the 5th or 6th lb taken, unless its an explosive freak of nature like m. lawson who we can develop for a year or 2. if someone like d. ware or s. merriman drop to us we have to take them. i dont think they will and i dont think b. carpenter is that. im not seeing alot of upside in carpenter.

I can see alot of upside in carpenter...I just dont see it as us drafting our first pick him either. He's a great talent and would fit into our mold very nicely but overall, yes a RB even though we have 2 starters penciled in is a much bigger need, I think atleast. Given our RB's injury issues we would do well to have young fresh talent ready to go. Bring on White !

rep points to you

Moss does seem like he can be a pain in the future so I agree with you!
