Default Re: About Arians

Personally, I'd like to have a healthy offensive line, a dependable running back and let the receivers we have now gain some experience. If the offensive problems (real or imagined) still exist after that, then yes, I would agree that there might be a case against B.A.

But with what's been happening with personnel these last couple of seasons, I'd be hard-pressed to point a finger at any one thing or one person.

Oh please stop. Sure I agree that BA makes some crazy calls in critical situations but stop making the defense out to be saints.

-We would not have lost that Jacksonville playoff game in 07 if it were not for the defense choking. The offense did their best to come back and the defense still choked.

-I can think of many times throughout Bens career when the defense choked. how about blowing the 5 4th quarter leads last year where if they had one less blown lead we would have been in the playoffs...and the way Ben was playing, we might have been a force to reckon with.

I'm not writing this in defense of BA but rather to your "how many times?" question. The GB game last year pops to my head right away.

It is true that there were many we would not have won if it were not for the defense ...that's for sure. They make their share of mistakes that cost us too though. With Troy...much better.

My problem with Arians is that our O-Line has been an issue for quite some time and he has done very little to address it. This year picking up Pouncey was the first time in years I have said they made an full blown attempt to fix their weakest area.

You fix that O-line the running game opens up. When we are running the ball well we pass even better. The play action that Ben does usually kills teams.

Yes Ben holds on to the ball but this year like many times the last few its because there are a ton of 3rd and longs he had to try to convert. Why is that, because Arians calls RUN RUN PASS like its clockwork.
BA has tried to comment on the O-line without hurting people's feelings. Unlike us, he couldn't say "They suck". He did say he would prefer not to have to pass on 3rd and 1 but felt he had no option.

Just like the success of a coach is married to how good the QB is, the O-line contributes a little to what an OC can call.

The only place I hate BA is second and long.

In addition, we should scrap the whole Red Zone playbook and copy from successful teams.
