There is a Steeler Way

Like me, many of you grew up as Steelers fans on the knees of your dad or grampa watching the games at the stadium or on TV. Like me, your dad prolly let you take a sip of beer 'only during the game' as he would explain to your mom, with a smile on his face. Your Dad prolly explained Steeler fandom and Life's rules to you as well. #1 rule, don't blame anybody but yourselves if something doesn't go your way. #2 Let us be humble in victory, and gracious in defeat. #3 Never let another team decide whether you make it to the playoffs on game 16 . Win it before. #4 Leave the showboating and big mouthing for the other guys, let our hard smash-mouth way of Steeler ball speak for itself.

This is the Steeler way. The Only way. This is our rep throughout the other 31 teams,let's not forget this. I know it's hard to do. I'm not schooling anyone, I yell at the refs plenty and want to lower myself to opposing teams fans in a smack contest. But I resist and fall back upon the Steeler way that was taught to me back in 1960.

Congrats to the Jets and their fans for a well played game. We will see them next year.

We Steeler Fans and our team has a Super Bowl to prepare for. Our Opponent is the Green Bay Packers....Another great team with loyal fans,National representation and a storied franchise. Sounds kind of like us,don't they?

Very well said, I am very early in my fandom of the Steelers and I appreciate fans like you who have been w/ the franchise for years and years giving your thoughts on what the Steelers are about.

While my father did those things, he did not teach me about the Steelers, for that I had to learn on my own. See my old man was a colts fan, then oilers fan, then ravens fan.

I understand, I'm in the same boat. I have had to learn about the Steelers on my own, get to know the history, players and tradition etc. My father is a Cowboys fan and my mother is a Patriots fan.

I learned the Steelers Way from my uncle. He's the one that got me into them. My dad's a Cowboys fan, but I definitely was taught all of that stuff as a kid. Just over the phone instead of in person.

SB45 will be played on my 40th B-day.
