Default Peter King's original SB XLV prediction

Pete's original prediction for SB XLV from September: Steelers 33 Packers 27

Here's the link - long article: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vau...3841/index.htm

Super scary - predicted the emergence of Ziggy, Wallace, and Maurkice. Unreal - the guy must have a crystal ball.

He's got a good source in Pittsburgh. If you think about it, it really wasn't a bold prediction. Pretty much our same team as in 2008...but with improvements: A more focused Ben, improved O-line, Wallace and Hood in their 2nd season, a healthy Troy and Smith. etc. There were plenty of reasons to think we were at the very least a playoff team.

The Packers had offensive weapons, a more experienced Rogers, and a Dom Capers lead defense with a year of learning under their belt. It wasn't too difficult to know the Packers defense would be improved. They were one of the more popular NFC picks prior to the season.

No offense, but why would you comment in a thread about this and then 4 minutes later start your own thread about the exact same article?

We're going to have plenty of duplicate threads around here in the next two weeks. No reason to add to the mess.

King finally got something right. He is wrong far more often than he's
right. But he did nail this one. Thankfully, he's one of the very few
talking heads that was high on the Steelers. Pgh NEVER does
well when they are a favorite heading into the season. NEVER.

But kudos Peter on this one. You nailed it.

Actually, King changed his pick later in the season to the Pats* (no surprise there as he loves Marsha).

No. Don't, really.
For those who would like to backpat me for picking Steelers 33, Packers 27 in the SI NFL preview issue last summer, I'd remind you that I'm the same guy who swerved over to pick the Patriots to win the AFC three weeks ago, as the playoffs began, and to face the Packers in the title game. So as much as I'd like to take a bow for nearly being right, and for having my two teams make it to Super Bowl XLV, I really can't.

Well we never faced the Pats in the playoffs and even if we did, our chances were slim.

I predicted the Packers vs Steelers in the preseason. I always pick the steelers so that wasnt a suprise. But I knew the Pack had something. I picked the Saints last year to come out the NFC, and the year before that, I picked Philly but McNabb ruined that by choking in the NFC title game against the Cards. The NFC has had 10 different teams make the last 10 Super Bowls.

For the record, I predicted a Steelers-Packers SB the second SB44 ended. I'm tired of hearing about Peter King, I'M the real genius here
