Carolina was rumored to be looking at Holmes. We'll probably never know, but it was a risk that had to be taken.

According the article at steelers.com, the plan that came together, and on FSN, last night..the Steelers had inside information that teams were looking to jump into the Giants spot, to try and get a WR. They didnt know which one, but they knew if they wanted Holmes they'd have to make a move. It worked out and they'd do it again they said.

Bing and Simpson were rated below Smith on the Steelers chart, so that's all I need to know about that.

As for White, I think the Steelers made it clear how they felt when they said Holmes was the only guy they'd move up for.
