Default todays talent that was passed up

l. white, rod white, darnell bing and ko simpson. im thinking all 4 mustve had drug problems or something. if not why draft a project at safety, a #2 wr, and a return specialist. (granted the steelers needs are really at special teams.) i am suprised that no big men are drafted on the 1st day

Holmes was the first WR taken in the draft and one of the top two this year...I believe they addressed a glaring need with that pick.

White might turn into Ron Dayne....

RB is a position they can address next year. Rounds 2 - 4 are pretty close in terms of talent available. I think they will be alright. Not a bad first pick for the last position in the draft.

Yes, we needed a wr and i believe we secured a good one, but i also think that this years draft may go down as the worse steelers draft ever..........its nice not to have any major holes on a defending superbowl chapmipion team

let's not jump the gun. Our FO has done this before and I have faith that they know what they are doing.

You answered my question about Bing, that's pretty surprising.
Damn he dropped faster and farther than a share of Enron stock.

I cant remember the last time when the Steelers actually had a BAD draft. Sure sometimes we miss on a player or injuries happen..but overall, I trust their judgement and if they think we needed extra help at WR, then so be it. I think with Willie Reid, he was probably the highest rated player on the board left for them so that came into play atleast alittle bit in the decision, IMO.

Weve got a bunch of picks on day 2 and we can get some of the depth we need at LB, DE, and RB.

This is what happens when you have no real needs to fill, u draft for depth, and you have the luxury of a project or 2.

I'm glad we got WR Santonio Holmes although at the time I thought we had a good chance getting either he or WR Chad Jackson at 32.

I don't think we should have traded our 2nd pick. We could have taken the second best ILB Abdul Hodge, Safeties Simpson or Bing with that pick.

With S Anthony Smith, well, I have to trust that the team's scouts saw something we all missed.

I really don't understand the WR Willie Reid pick. He's another speedster, 4.34 speed so maybe they want to use Reid and Holmes as kick returners.

Hoping for a big back tomorrow, RB Cedric Humes, RB De'Arrius Howard, or RB Mike Bell.

makes you wonder if the Steelers are looking for more speed now instead of the traditional. "just has to be tough, have good hands, be able to go across the middle, take the short to intermediate route" type of WR. Cedric Wilson is a burner, Reid is too, so is Nate Washington and Holmes isnt exactly slow either.

Our offense will be faster, and have better hands than in over 20 years

fact of the matter is today we drafted to replace a #2-3 wr, a back up for ryan clark, and a kick return specialist (maybe a #2 or #3 wr project) sorry but im not gonna get a stiffy over the steelers draft so far. good players? hell yeah, nothing that will give us leverage against the cap in upcoming years though. good think is the only place we really needed help was the #3 wr spot and special teams. that has been addressed. i guess tomorrow we can draft some more back ups for rb and lb and be just fine (for a year or so)
