Default Steelers in Dublin?

A spokeswoman for Ireland's Minister for Tourism, Culture and Sport has Mary Hanafin has confirmed discussions have taken place to host an NFL game in Croke Park in the Autumn.

Dan Rooney, whose family own the franchise the Pittsburgh Steelers, is the current US Ambassador in Dublin and could bring his Super Bowl finalists to Ireland

If they'll play in Dublin, I'll be in Dublin, just few hours away (by plane, of course xD)

Would be brilliant
Rooney's have connections to Ireland and Dan Rooney is US Ambassador to Ireland

Croke Park is a fantastic stadium, lots of history and once of the biggest stadia in Europe

But would Steelers fans be ok with losing a home game?
As this will be most likely be a Steelers home game, not a road game

Since this report there's been some dumping on it.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...ls-in-ireland/

But it's weird, they keep mentioning the UK but Ireland is not part of the UK.
So i'm not sure are they just confused about geography, or just have a really UK-centric pov.
Point at the end there says that Steelers may not have to loose a home game.
Personally i don't see why they don't this for a Pre-Season game instead of a Regular Season one.

I can walk to Croke Park!

I've traveled to Dublin to watch a rugby game many years ago but it was at Landsdowne Rd. Is Croke Park a new stadium? Is Landsdowne Rd still active?

As for the largest stadium in EU, I think it's in Barcelona (Nou Camp), followed by London (Wembley).

No Croke Park is an old stadium, but recently re-furbished.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Croke_Park
It's owned by the GAA so they don't generally permit foreign sport to be played there.
They made an exception for Rugby recently, and it was brilliant.
They'll never allow soccer, whose players would feign injury on the field where heroes do battle.

There's a brand new stadium called Aviva Stadium, replacing Landsdowne Road.
