Default Holmes in his first year...

I'm wondering what you all are expecting out of Holmes his first year? History suggests very few rookie WR's make a dramatic impact, usually breaking out in year 2 or 3.

Please don't interpret this question as being negative simply because I'm a Bengal fan. I'm just curious about what kind of numbers you honestly think he'll put up.

Your right my Bengals friend rookie recievers usually don't make a big impact during their rookie years. But I think one reason usually when the top recievers are drafted they are drafted on teams that need much help and rely on rookies to make difference. With Santonio being drafted by the Steelers. He won't have to carry our offense. Just fill a role. Steelers will run the ball. Plus we already have Hines Ward and Heath Miller. So Holmes doesn't even have to carry the passing game. I expect Cedric Wilson to be the number two reciever for the first half of the year until Holmes is ready.

So I think Holmes numbers might be around 40 catches for 700 yards with 6 TD's. Maybe this is to low or high. But since you asked I answered.

Holmes will do what Cedric Wilson can't, and that's attract attention from more than 1 DB. If he fulfills just that role next year, all the rest is gravy, cause, I'll tell ya, if you try to gameplan a strategy and DON'T account for Holmes, he'll make you pay.

I would say you will probably see him catch a few more balls than Randle El did last year, somewhere in the 35-45 range. Somewhere around 600 yards or so. But you never know we will have to wait for the season to find out!

why not? 700 yds + 5 td would be great in the steelers system. judging by what heath miller achieved last year it could be considerably more.

This kid's total impact won't come in his numbers, he is going to stretch the field and he is also going to be a pretty good blocker. And I agree about 40 750 6tds

I dont think he'll score more than 3 or 4 times. Id say 657 yards, 3 TD's, 39 receptions
