Default kentucky derby: who to watch/ who will win

20 horses in the field pick 5. i always play horse #4 (sinister minister) no matter who it is cause its my lucky number, got the best angle going into the 1st turn, and most importantly, the #4 cloth they wear is always yellow with a black 4. i got a few bucks on him to win, place, and show.

i dont follow horseracing but its fun to watch and bet on and actually pretty easy if you do a 10 minute read on the horses and play the longshots vs. favorites.

im going with #s 7, 17, 8, 4, 2 in that order (none of which got greater than 12:1 odds)

last year the long shot won (giacamo i think). this year theres about 4-5 horses at 50-1.

if im going for the trifecta i usually pick the horse with the coolest name, a favorite, and a semi-longshot. in this case i like "sharp humor" watch for him.

I like to watch all the pre-Kentucky Derby stuff because I like to see what kind of funky hats all the women are wearing. I heard on The Today Show this morning that they're going to have a special Mint Julep drink which will cost $1,000/drink. Only 50 of these drinks will be sold. Proceeds to go to a charity for horses to die w/dignity. So get out your credit cards, fellas... I want one of these drinks...(lol).

I'm taking Steppenwolfer in the Derby just because I think it's a cool name.

I'd like to go for the party, but I don't really gamble, and could care less about horse racing.
