Mock draft overload

I love watching the draft and reading about who the "experts" think the Steelers will draft.
But I never got into creating a mock draft. It seems like a waste of time to me.

All it takes is one or two teams to make unexpected picks to throw everything off. It's hard enough trying to determine who the Steelers will pick with the 31st pick, much less trying to determine who they will pick in the fourth round.

Is it just me, or does it seem pointless to try to create a multi-round mock draft?

its nothing more then a guess but alot of people including myself spend alot of money to buy magazines soley to read the mocks. its fun to see who the experts pick nut its nothing more then a guess. most mocks and 85% of this board had us taking kyle wilson last year

Yeah, that's my point. Most of us can't even get the first-round pick right. That's why I don't understand trying to figure out who we're going to take in later rounds.

I'm certainly not criticizing people who make mock drafts. I just don't understand it myself.

If nothing else, for me, it serves to show what prospects are likely to go in what rounds. They are fun to read, but I couldn't devote that much effort to it. It's hard to believe that there are that many more people who are even more draft crazy than me. I love this time of year!
