we need to get these career scumbags out od DC !!! pass this website around anywhere you can.
the definition of insanity is doing the same thing the same way over and over and expecting different results .... so how insane is it to keep letting the same corrupt scumbags represent us and make all of our decisions for us ? today the only difference between our two party democratic system and communism is one extra party. http://www.termlimits.org/content.as...Y&contentid=28 Quote:

Term limits are long overdue. But I wouldn't stop there ...
We need to stop these career politicians from bouncing around from office to office. Even in state government where there are term limits, these idiots just run for another office once their terms are up. They should be able to run for a higher office, but not one that is lower or parallel. And while we're at it, I wish they would ban the phrase "public service." They make it sound like they're doing volunteer work. Once they start working for free, then we can call it public service.

Congressional Term Limits Amendment Introduced in Both Houses
July 12, 2011, Fairfax, VA—Last Thursday, U.S. Rep. David Schweikert (R-AZ) introduced an amendment to the U.S. Constitution which would limit the number of terms that a Congress member may serve to three in the House of Representatives and two in the Senate. The bill is the House companion of Sen. Jim DeMint’s term limits amendment bill, introduced to the Senate in April. The introduction of the Schweikert bill in the House marks the first time in nearly 20 years a serious term limits bill has appeared in both Houses with cosponsorship. “In a time of historic political malfunction in Washington, term limits have remerged as an important issue in the national discussion,” said Philip Blumel, president of U.S. Term Limits, a single-issue advocacy organization based in Fairfax, VA. “Many members of congress are realizing that a constitutional amendment limiting terms for members of Congress may be the only way to make our political system work again.” The House bill, HJR 71, is initially cosponsored by Reps. Joe Walsh (R-IL) and Jeff Duncan (RSC). In the Senate, the DeMint bill has gathered 10 cosponsors. While the public has always supported term limits, support today has reached record levels. According to a September 2010 poll by Public Opinion Dynamics for Fox News, 78 percent of Americans support congressional term limits. Support is strong across partisan lines with 84 percent of Republicans favoring the idea along with 74 percent of Democrats and 74 percent of independents. “The American people know that our nation is in trouble, and see term limits as the solution to the problem that Washington, DC is controlled by career politicians who have spent a lifetime living off the taxpayers rather than by those who work and pay taxes,” Blumel said. The term limits amendment bills would require a two-thirds majority vote in the House and Senate, and ratification by 38 states in order to become part of the Constitution. ###

Warren Buffett stated, "I can end the deficit in five minutes. You just pass a law that says that anytime the deficit is more than 3 percent of the Gross Domestic Product, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election. If you guys can't get it done, we'll get some other guys to get it done."
