INJURY UPDATE

QB Rod Rutherford is still on crutches after breaking his foot in the days leading up to the NFL Draft ? WR Quincy Morgan, who ended the 2005 season on injured reserve after breaking a leg in the playoffs, is running, but he didn't participate in either of the workouts ? T Max Starks is coming off arthroscopic knee surgery, and he also didn't participate; neither did S Mike Logan (knee) ? CB Chidi Iwuoma (shoulder), OLB Andre Frazier (ankle) and rookie OLB Mike Kudla (hamstring) all were limited. "I would anticipate all these guys being ready to go by training camp," said Cowher. "Between now and the end of coaching sessions, some of them may get back. We'll take it on a day-to-day, week-to-week basis."

Staley should be close to 100%. He will give Willie all he wants in the run for the starting tailback slot. We got healthy last year at the right time !!

I think Staley was 100% ever since the Cleveland and Green Bay games last season to be honest. The only question is will he break like a China doll in week one like he has been doing ever since joining the B&G?

last year was about him getting healthy for this year

If Staley gets injuried again this season, Haynes will take over I think for the year and Duce will finally do what he has been doing best the last few seasons and thats looking gray.

Cowher instinctively knew that Duce was coming back this season. Rather than squeezing in a few plays towards the end of last year he just shut him down completely - to heal completely.

There is no reason for him to be listed.

Palmer gets in some tosses on the first day of OTAs.
Quarterback Carson Palmer didn’t suit up for Tuesday morning’s first voluntary workout of the spring at Paul Brown Stadium, but all eyes were on him as he threw to receivers during warmups and then jogged some sprints at a fairly good rate on the sidelines.

Palmer, rehabbing from reconstructive knee surgery, bequeathed his spot to Doug Johnson and Anthony Wright. Both are to rotate with the No. 1 team as Wright took the first snap of the walk through. Also not in the lineup was running back Rudi Johnson, who worked out on the side as he continues to recover from offseason arthroscopic knee surgery. With Chris Perry also out while recovering from a scope, Kenny Watson took the first snap at running back. It’s Watson’s first appearance since he suffered a season-ending arm injury in last year’s opener.

Also not suited up as they recover from various ailments are linebacker David Pollack (foot), center Eric Ghiaciuc (undetermined), wide receiver Chris Henry (knee), cornerback Deltha O’Neal (knee scope) and offensive linemen Adam Kieft and Larry Moore (recovering from reconstructive knee surgeries).

Safety Madieu Williams, who missed all but four games with a shoulder injury last season, suited up and practiced.
