Default Post draft schedule predictions

Home:

Baltimore, - WIN
Cincinnati, - WIN
Cleveland, - WIN
Jacksonville, - WIN
Tennessee, - WIN
New England, - LOSS
St. Louis, - WIN
Seattle - WIN

Away:

Baltimore, - LOSS. Maybe not. But....
Cincinnati, - WIN
Cleveland, - WIN
Houston, - WIN
Indianapolis, - LOSS
Kansas City, - LOSS - KC much improved even over last season.
Arizona, - WIN
San Francisco - WIN

12-4. Of course, we thought we had a cake schedule a few
years ago and lost 5 in a row vs. bad teams, so you never know.
If we have to face Brady in play offs, we probably lose. I don't see
anything that will change with this team in terms of not being able
to defense elite QBs. I don't see how anything they did in the draft
or they will do in free agency that is going to change that trend.

I think we finish 13-3, losses to Baltimore, New England and a toss up between Indy and Houston. We should beat one but I don't think we will beat both.

I still don't think Houston will be quite there yet. They drafted massive
on D but all those rooks won't be ready to produce year 1. Maybe 1 or
2 but not all of them. Indy had a down year and may be due for a rebound.
They lost tons of players, and important ones like Dallas Clark.

Thing with Peyton though is he is hit and miss against us. He can't move around so if we get a pass rush on him and can't sit back and throw. Schaub is a bit more mobile (not by much) and they have no problem just sitting back and throwing on us all day. It all depends on our secondary.

But Houston's D is pathetic. Can't hold any lead at all. Indy will turn
loss those fast DEs once they get a lead on you and they are tough
to stop when they pin their ears back and don't have to worry about
the rush.

I don't see how we don't finish at least 12-4.

For some reason when I first saw the schedule I thought it was tougher but looking at the opponents now...

I literally picked last year to a TEE, writeups and all. Since the lockout is hanging over the season and there is no FA period OR camps being started, I'll give a quick gut feeling.

Sunday, Sept. 11 -- Steelers at Baltimore- L
Sunday, Sept. 18 -- Steelers vs Seattle-W
Sunday, Sept. 25 -- Steelers at Indianapolis-W
Sunday, Oct. 2 -- Steelers at Houston- L
Sunday, Oct. 9 -- Steelers vs Tennessee-W
Sunday, Oct. 16 -- Steelers vs Jacksonville-L
Sunday, Oct. 23 -- Steelers at Arizona-W
Sunday, Oct. 30 -- Steelers vs New England-L
Sunday, Nov. 6 -- Steelers vs Baltimore-W
Sunday, Nov. 13 -- Steelers at Cincinnati-W
Sunday, Nov. 20 -- Bye
Sunday, Nov. 27 -- Steelers at Kansas City- W
Sunday, Dec. 4 -- Steelers vs Cincinnati-W
Thursday, Dec. 8 -- Steelers vs Cleveland-W
Monday, Dec. 19 -- Steelers at San Francisco-W
Saturday, Dec. 24 -- Steelers vs St. Louis-W
Sunday, Jan. 1 -- Steelers at Cleveland-W

I want to say 11-5, but 12-4 is looking more and more realistic to me.

IMHO, I think the first 6 games are brutal, minus Seattle. Opening up AT a thirsty Baltimore team, coming back home and then going on the road for back to back weeks in domes with Indy and Houston, who have vicious passing attacks, esp Houston with Andre Johnson could be a tough stretch.

We won't over-look an Indy team but that Houston game could be a tricky-trap game. Coming back home to two former, physical rivals in Tenn/Jax won't be a cake-walk and JAX always starts off the season hot. Even going TO Arizona, where we NEVER play good in that dome and then New England a week after is a stretch. Until we can show we can slow Brady down, I don't like our chances against N.E.

We'll split with Baltimore and then sweep our other division opponents with ease. Starting the second half of the season after the BYE starting with K.C should be the "taking care of business" mode. Traveling to San Fran could be a late trap but we should handle any team in that stank division with a new head coach. I'm sure John will give Jim some pointers....

11-5/12-4.

No way we lose to Jacksonville. Their QB is in shambles and their D is suspect. Ben will pick them apart and our D will eat MJD up.

Garrard had a pretty decent year last year. Jones Drew won't hurt us on the ground but he could in the short passing game. Jax always plays us tough and this will be no different.

Is that first game of the season without big Ben? Because he never loses to Joe Flacco. Sure its been close almost every time, but we always squeak out a win when its Roethlisberger vs. Flacco
