i think shes starting somewhere between 10-20 (midpack), but im not too sure. i dont even know where little al or michael andretti are starting (2 descent stories for this years race)

koopa, her looks definitely contribute to her hype and shes not shy to admitt she uses whatever tools available, to gain exposure for her and her team, but she can definitely drive the wheels off a car. she hasnt won a race yet, but that probably has more to do with equipment than it does talent. even if she were ugly she is still the 1st woman to lead the indy 500 and that in itself would gain alot of hype. keep in mind she was a rookie last year and she is now driving with the big dogs who male rookies cant even beat. shes the real deal.

I agree, tony, that Danica's the real deal. I think she was on the pole for last year's Indy 500, wasn't she? I really would like to see her do well in this year's race. A friend of mine and her boyfriend are driving out to see the Indy 500 this year. I'm sure they'll have a great time.

just saw on pti that shes starting 10th. last year she started 4th and finished 4th.

She's a real driver. She raced in all the league's in Europe open wheelers have to to earn their stripes, and, by all accounts, she's a really good wheel (wo)man.

The fact that she's hot will always be held against her, just like the fact that Jeff Gordon, despite paying all the due's (maybe more than some), and coming up the ranks the hard way is STILL despised to this day because he A) Didn't look like the Marlboro Man, B) Could speak English, and C) Wasn't from the South.

People forget that she's only 23, and that's still young in the sport of racing. Once she starts winning, people will realize she's the real deal.

She is a good driver, and very attractive. But the P.A. boys the Andrettis i`ll be rooting for.
