Not sure to call this the offense or Offensive line thread, but it needed its own thread... lol
Ok, now that I'm through with bad puns, what is our starting line for this season? Scott Kemo Pouncey Bronco Colon That is my first guess, but I could see Foster in for Bronco... I don't think Gilbert will start this year and is he a RT or LT? |

What offensive line? I don't see one.

although I am sure they were not thinking OG when they drafted him. He was more highly touted in 2009, as he was hampered in 2010 with injuries. Looking at that OL line up, I don't feel too good. Why is it the team keeps telling us how good Colon is but none of us recall him ever looking very good? Kind of like with Simmons: They kept telling us how awesome he was and the rest of us scratched our heads like "Really? He looks like he sucks to me." |

I agree, I am starting to really question the Steelers front office on the line. Scott wasn't that great when he played last year, Colon...is TERRIBLE, I have no issues with the G but they are still not...really good and then the only real lineman we have is Pouncey.

after the super bowl i can see legursky starting at rg. colon is average at rt but can probably be great at rg. scott isnt good enough to be a starter and i really dont feel well about him playing the most important position on our line.

I guess I could add that Starks could be resigned, but that is like putting frosting on a turd...

Colon isn't terrible. He was our best OLmen in 2009. I'm willing to bet the right side will be stellar when he finally gets to play with Pouncey. Pouncey made everyone on last years line better.
I'm hoping Gilbert pans out in this short offseason. I'd like to see him at LT by week 4 or sooner. |

I completely agree that Colon is not terrible. He is very serviceable. My biggest concern is Scott. How they can say he is a starting LT in this league is beyond me! I love Legs getting a start at RG, Colon at RT and Pouncey at C. The left side is a mess with Kemo and Scott. Now that Flo didn't resign, we actually need Starks. If for no other reason than insurance.

Continuity is the most important consideration on the O Line, something we havent had the last few years with all the injuries. Kugler is a very good coach (judging by last seasons magician act he pulled) and if these guys can stay healthy and together for a whole year we will be saying we have a very good line by seasons end. (which will be with our 7th lombardi)

We have a long road to travel before we know what our OL ends
up being. Starks and/or Hotel could be brought back. Or maybe neither will. We just don't know. Look at how late we picked up Hotel last year. Colon is NOT a good player. He would be a back up on most teams, especially at RT. I would love to see him at RG and see how he does. I pray to God Gilbert ends up being able to play solid LT b/c right now, he is our only chance at having a decent player there. He certainly has the size. Does he have the feet? |
