I don't think Sweed will make the team, rather I will be surprised. I think Grisham has a good chance to make the roster. I also agree we are deeper at WR then we have been in years...without looking at a roster sheet on the net...who was the 4 or 5 guy when our starting three was Ward, Burress, and EL?

We are deep at the WR spot and STACKED at the RB spot...we are going to have a good offense this year.
Ward is# 1? Did you see his stats last season compared to Wallace's?
Wallace is hands down our top wr

Rbs are ok...Under Mendy you have old Moore and a unproven Redman, Batch and Dwyer again it's ok ..nothing great ...I'm more worried about the wideouts with Sanders injured.
Wow, all Sanders and Brown did last year was move up on the depth chart, make clutch catch after clutch catch and they are still unproven?... maybe to you, but to the people that matter they have.

I think a major player people always overlook when it comes to our receivers is a man by the name of HEATH. This guy is as solid a receiver as we have, quite possibly possess the best hands on the team. We were highly successful when we went 2 TE's and flared heath out last year, but unfortunately with the OL struggles we couldn't do that as often towards the end of the year. With sanders going down, someone else will pick up the slack. Its the steeler way.

If mewelde moore could have 100 yard games when mendy went down his rook season I'm confident anyone could. He wasn't exactly a proven back, but we were fine with him and I'm sure we would be fine with whoever gets the nod. Personally I think if Mendy went down the three backs would share the load, and my inkling is dwyer would become the guy, not redman. I think he is great at what he does, and thats being good enough in all 3 phases, but he wouldn't be able to break one, and dwyer has that deceiving speed for a big guy.

I really don't see all the panic with our depth at WR. We have talent all through the ranks. The veteran Ward, enough said! Wallace is incredible all ready and from what i hear is learning to break off routes etc. from ward and becoming the "complete" reciever. Emmanual and Brown, are only in their second years and have done nothing but prove they can be called upon time after time again, Sanders will come back from injury and they both will have good seasons, maybe not as impressive as wallace because they dont see the playing time he gets. So thats 4/5 spots potentially, then you have all the undfa, sweed, grisham(who i really like) . I really like our depth. Other teams would love to have our wr, and look where they got us last year...

So freakin tired of hearing about Limas Sweed and his potential, its time to put up or shut up as far as i am concerned. The man is to often injured, and when healthy he has the worst hands of any reciever the Steelers have ever had.

Supposedly Sweed dislocated his shoulder in practice yesterday. Not looking good for him to make the team.

They changed it from a separated shoulder to a sprained shoulder yesterday.

I see them carrying 6 wide receivers this year, with Arnaz Battle being one of them. The last spot comes down to Sweed, Grisham, and Wes Lyons. I honestly don't see Grisham ever doing anything. I do not think that he makes the team. I think it is Sweed's job to take provided that he quickly recovers from his sprained shoulder and shows up in the preseason. If not, Wes Lyons has a chance. The Steelers already have enough Grisham-like receivers. Being white doesn't make him special or Wes Welker.

Whatever it is Sweed is gone - this rip from Ed. B. of the P-G

I have a better chance of making the roster than WR Limas Sweed. He took himself out of one passing drill Saturday because he hurt his wrist. When he came back and dropped a pass over the middle, he held his wrist as though it were to blame. Reminded me of the time he dropped the easy deep pass against the Ravens and laid on the ground, pretending to be injured. Later, he took himself out of practice to have his shoulder wrapped by one of the trainers. Afterward, Mike Tomlin said Sweed has a sprained shoulder. The only question remaining with Sweed is deciding which cutdown date to release him.

I had high hopes for Sweed this season. Too bad he doesn't have what it takes to be a star in the NFL. Hell, to even step on the FIELD in the NFL. Welcome to the Alonzo Jackson and Ricardo Colclough list. Buh-bye, 14.
