Ikes surgery
Reports say it all went well. He had a pin put into his thumb. He felt so well that he went and had lunch with the team.

You made it sound like being able to eat lunch after having your thumb fixed was some sort of medical miracle As for the Sanders comparison, he probably had lunch on the day of his surgery as well and there were no admissions of complications coming out of that operation either - given the NFL culture of hiding injuries I assume you agree it is highly unlikely the Steelers would say there was problem with the surgery if in fact the doctor botched a procedure that lots of non-pro athletes somehow manage to survive
