Default 80 -> 53 by Saturday

Most of these decisions are cake to predict, but the last four or five are kind of coin tosses. I'm "cutting" Lefty to IR, and predicting 3TEs (Saunders) instead of six WRs (Battle) I'm also going out on a limb that Cortez Allen gets the nod over guys like McClendon, which is probably unwise, but otherwise this year's draft starts looking really pathetic:

Brent Greewood and Cortez Allen make the team?

I see 2 out of these 4 make it instead of them:

McClendon
Chris Carter
Warren
Battle

No, Greenwood was an oversight on my part. I foresee Colbert and Tomlin leaning/erring in favor of their own draft picks, so Allen stays, and maybe Carter as well instead of Greenwood.

[Fixed it above as well]

I agree with you - they do favor their own draft picks. But they have cut draft picks before (Frank Summers - 5th round, Kris Farris - 3rd round, Danny Farmer - 4th, Fred Gibson - 4th, Nathaniel Adibi - 5th)

I don't see how Allen can stay since he hasn't played at all this preseason and there is no threat of any other team putting him on their active roster. I say he gets cut and added to practice squad.

Chris Carter is another guy that may get cut and added to practice squad but in general, we keep 8 LB and I think he will be kept.

Here is my prediction after this week's game:

QB(3): Roethlisberger, Batch, Dixon
RB (3): Mendenhall, Redman, Moore
FB(1): D. Johnson
TE (2): Miller, Saunders
WR (6): Ward, Wallace, Sanders, Brown, Crotchery
OL(10): Colon, Legursky, Pouncey, Kemoeatu, J. Scott, Gilbert, Essex, Foster, Hills, C. Scott

DL (6): A. Smith, Hampton, Keisel, Hood, Hoke, Heyward,
LB(8): Harrison, Farrior, Timmons, Woodley, Worilds, Foote, Sylvester, C. Carter
S(4): Polamalu, Clark, Mundy, Allen
CB(7): Taylor, McFadden, Gay, Lewis, Brown, Butler, Warren

Special(3): Suisham, Sepulveda, Warren

Pretty much how I have it. Stop putting Ward's name before Wallace though

It really does come down to the final 4-5.

OT Chris Scott is long gone. I don't think Donovan Warren makes it either. The guy can tackle that's for sure but all he is does is let receivers catch the ball in front of him. I haven't seen him close to breaking up a ball all pre season. At least get near a few like Keenan Lewis. However he may fit the Steeler's isea of CB perfectly.

Jonathan Dwyer is somewhat of a luxury on the roster, but they usually always keep 4.

TE Saunders who I wanted the Steelers to even draft is making just enough mental errors to not make the team and be signed to the practice squad. I haven't seen Gilmore really make any errors and he has a lot of experience. I would like to see Saunders stick though.

Then it comes down to if you want a 6th receiver or 9th LB, or 7th D lineman.

And of course what happens every year those last guys to make the team usually get cut because of some injury and having to sign someone else even if it is temporary.
