Default Ben's delivery

I was re-watching some of the pre-season games and I just can't get over not only how quick and fast Ben's getting the ball out of his hands, but how his mechanics have improved GREATLY since last season.

It seems like he certainly worked on his foot work and also his arm rotation. He opens his chest up more and has a very nice balance to his motion, which gives him more power and rotation. Anyone else notice this? He looks sharp and accurate as ever. Ben and this offense are going for broke this season.

I did notice that. I honestly think BB is going to have a career year this year. He looks as poised as ever.

I haven't seen him look this sharp ever. I know it's only preseason but I'm always a firm believer in how you practice is how you'll play. excited about this year for sure

I haven't really looked close enough to notice his mechanics, but he has looked sharp...

there are those in the national media who have noticed as well. (not only is pat kirwan a senior analyst on nfl.com, and host of a 4 hr sirius nfl radio show, he also sits in on all the production meetings of the cbs pre-game shows with cowher, boomer, sharp and marino.)

Steelers look Super. If ever a team looked ready for the season, it was the Steelers. Heck, their third-team offense functioned well in a 2-minute drill. The defense was already playing at a fast pace and the unit had more blitzes and zone pressures in the scheme than some teams will have all year. Ben Roethlisberger was doing a much better job in the pocket and getting rid of the ball quicker than I have ever seen him. The most impressive part, I witnessed all this during the first week of camp.

1. Ben Roethlisberger has never looked in better shape. Every year I watch him scramble around the field in the night scrimmage at Latrobe High School, making plays and exciting the fans. Not this year, though, as Roethlisberger consistently stayed in the pocket and drilled receivers with a much quicker and improved release. In the first real two-minute drill of the year against most of the Steelers' first defense, Roethlisberger marched the offense down the field the same way he did to win the Super Bowl against the Cardinals.

It's amazing how much you can work on the deficiencies in the off season when you aren't getting accused of assault or crashing your skull into a windshield.

This may have been the easiest offseason for Ben since his rookie year. The way he is playing and the way his recievers are playing, this may be the most potent offense in Steeler history. I can not wait.

Agreed, Ben's looked really sharp so far. He's looked better than I think he's EVER looked in the preseason.

Ben is so underrated as a quarterback. If he were on any other team he would be looked on as a top 3 quarterback. Our defense and run first demeanor hinders most of the meaningless statistical accolades (i.e. yards).

After this year the rest of the league will probably consider Ben a top Ten QB (sarcasm of course) when in fact he'll be in the top three.

Had Ben not thrown 2 INTs, he would be sitting on 3 titles and would be number 2 behind brady right now. Maybe even number 1.
