If he's getting rid of the ball faster it means quite a bit.

Very true but he is going to need time to set up and deliver an accurate, deep throw to one of the speedy receivers and that is what I am afraid of. Unless they can start running a spread offense like the Packers and Pats and delivering the ball quick on slants and screens, they won't be able to use the speed and talent of the receivers because defenders will be in Ben's face constantly.

We'll see. Things are looking encouraging but game 1 against that voracious Raven's front is going to be a true test.

Flacco does not quickly adjust to having new targets. If/when we double Evans who does he have to rely on? Boldin doesn't scare me and neither does check downs to Ray Rice.

The pressure is squarely on them. Just imagine what is going through Flacco's head "Oh, we have the Steelers in our house wk 1 WITH Ben." I'm sure they are praying that Harrison won't make much progress in the next 11 days and will try to attack his side immediately and often. We pose more questions to them than they do to us. If we win the turnover battle we win. Plain and simple. Tricky Dick has something special for Joey boy - trust me.

Ben and co. have the chemistry advantage. Even the new guy (Cotchery) has like 9 years experience under his belt and is more clutch than Boldin.

We win wk 1 and I see a TON of moment for the black and gold

That's nothing new. If anything, Ben probably expects pressure right away. We are very lucky we have a QB that can get out of such a mess and he's proven it his whole career. That's not a concern for me, we've watched the man lead his team to Super Bowls behind the worst-olines ever.

That said, when he actually does get time, it looks like he's poised to get it out, get it out quick and look for more plays downfield. I just really do believe this offense is ready for special things.

Ben may not of had distractions this off season but he just may have focused himself on upping his game after the Superbowl defeat. He looks to be in great shape, I even commented to my wife the other night that he looked in the best shape since his first two years in the league.

Our offence has been pretty good the last two years, we just lacked the ability to finish drives with TDs and if we just improve in that area it will take a lot of pressure off our defense. While I do not long for the good ole days of Jerome Bettis I would like to see us run effectively in the red zone. Wait I would like to have a Bettis in his prime again.

Other than that, opening the game on those play-action roll-outs to the left side were phenomenal. When he had a guy in his face on the first ball, he quickly found his target, and sprung his body upright to make the play with velocity. I was shocked to see such flawless mechanics and he displayed it practically all night. That first TD to Brown couldn't of been better. Looking off the safety and then FIRING the ball with a nice mix of touch and strength. Just awesome.

I'm so excited I may poop my pants.
that's good to hear. my knock on BR, along with his long ball, was he didn't read his WRs quickly enough.

I have been impressed enough that I made him my #1 QB on my fantasy team. I think he looks good and will have a phenomenal year.
