The radio station that reported this is usually pretty accurate when it comes to the Colts, but they haven't said anything on the local news. Believe me when I say that Curtis Painter sucks, however I can't see the Colt's paying Kerry Collins $4 million to hold a clipboard

This is big if it is true. The Colts, Steelers and Pats have represented the AFC in the SB - nine times in the past 10 seasons, while 10 different teams from the NFC have played during that time.

Brady, Peyton and Roethlisberger have virtually owned the AFC for a decade. Peyton possibly being out means either an easier course for the other two or the emergence of new blood.

Peyton Manning Neck Injury Surgery Rumors Untrue, According To Report
Sep 04 11:06p
by Sean Keeley

According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning is being re-evaluated by several doctors because of the slow progress in his rehab from offseason neck surgery. However, his sources said that no new procedure on Manning's neck is scheduled at this time, contrary to a rumor circulating.

According to ESPN's 1070 The Fan in Indianapolis, Peyton Manning will need additional surgery on his neck. Some Colts fans describe the outlet as legit, but it's still just a report ... and other Colts fans aren't quite as convinced.

Since Kerry Collins has been pulled out of retirement to cover for Manning while he's out, there is obviously cause for concern on the Colts' side. However, it remains to be seen just how true this news is.

Maybe not another surgery but if you are a Colts fan this is not good news

Day the Colts Dreaded Is Finally Here

On Monday, in an unusually detailed statement, the Colts announced that Manning, who is still recovering from surgery on a bulging disk in his neck in May and has been practicing for only a week, is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans.

More ominous is what else the team said: that Manning, who began having unexplained back soreness over the weekend, is being shut down in practice, and that the rate of improvement in his rehabilitation has slowed. Specialists are being consulted and tests are being completed, suggesting that Manning’s absence may extend further into the season.

“As of now, Peyton continues to deal with a complicated neurological recovery, the end date of which is unpredictable,” the Colts’ statement said.
...

The Colts have been fortunate for nearly 15 years to not have to think about a future without Manning.

But if he is not back by the time the Colts face the Steelers, the glance ahead will be unavoidable. And probably painful.

One small downside for the Steelers in this is that the Browns get a shot at the Colts in week two

Well now, if Peyton is gone for the year, the Colts season goes down with him.

well I think many predicting us to go 11-5 might want to revise their predictions to 12-4
