Default Suit's General Knowledge Quiz

I read a lot, and have accumulated a great store of utterly useless knowlwdge (well, it comes in handy for playing NTN Trivia). While some the answers can easily be found with a simple Google search, some of these are pretty obscure. Anyway, I'll give 100 karma points to the first person to correctly answer all 9 questions.

General Knowledge Quiz

  • What is the scientific name for that little thing that hangs in the back of your throat?

  • “Archetype” is a term used in Psychology. What 20th Century Psychologist adopted the term for his theories?

  • In 1925, Charlie Chaplin along with several other notable actors started United Artists Studios. Which studio did Chaplin work for immediately prior to UA’s formation?

  • The Smithsonian used to display “The Soap Man” (before displaying human remains became pass?), a man whose corpse, after burial, turned to soap. What was his name?

  • Who said “We are not expected to be translated from despotism to liberty in a featherbed”?

  • Dracula is popularly depicted as residing in Transylvania. Which Country did Vlad the Impaler actually rule?

  • A 1977 movie depicted the Goodyear blimp crashing into the Super Bowl (incidentally, the Steelers and Cowboys were playing). There was an eponymous book. Name the author.

  • In Norse mythology, what is the 8 letter word for the end of the Universe?

  • Who led the Greek forces in the Trojan War?

There we go! 3.5 points out of a possible 9. Hint: Uvula is not the full descriptive scientific name, hence the half points.

uvula epigloti

the epiglottis is the flap that covers the trachea while swallowing. but for some reason epigloti rings a bell in reference to uvula. (its been over 10 years since anatomy lab)
some more obscure info: UNM is the only school to offer prosection (dissection of cadavers) to undergrads.

I was looking for Palatine Uvula, but I can see how hairs could be split over this. I'll accept Uvula, so I'll add a half point to all those who had it originally.
