Not to sure if he will take Smith's starting spot, but it would be nice to see him rotated in more often.

Ziggy should be playing and should be starter. Unfortunateoy its Smith who shouldn't be here as opposed to Keisel.

Hood played WELL/GREAT last year and didn't get Smiths spot. Complete BS that we kept Smith with his salary. Next year the line will get revamped some and Smith should and better be gone.

Both are listed as Left Ends. At this point, I have seen enough of Aaron Smith this season to know Ziggy should be starting.

I mean, we allowed a record 62 yards rushing per game last year with Ziggy in the lineup. Why change anything?

Ziggy struggled at first-- I recall in 2009 when Smith went down for the count, our run defense went completely in the weeds with Ziggy in there. It takes a year or two for even the brightest football players to learn Dick Lebeau's schemes.

But now that he has caught on, Ziggy should be in there. he has the longest reach of any of our Dlinemen, the fastest jump off the snap, and according to other Steelers, is strong as a bull.

We don'ty normally expect our 3-4 ends to contribute much in the pass rush, but Ziggy even helps there. Last year, as the season drew on, he started racking up some sacks, if you recall. He collapses the pocket so opposing QBs cannot step up to avoid Woodley and Harrison.

Time for the Ziggy Hood era to start, and the Aaron Smith twilight to begin. Sad to say it, because Aaron has been one of the most die-hard guys on the team.

I mean, the guy even showed up to play the same week his son was diagnosed with Leukemia-- maybe that is why the coaches are reluctant to put him out to pasture. They may feel a sense of responsibility to support him as well.

for those who dont know, the steelers intentionally try to artificially deflate their successful high draft pick's values before their 2nd contract.

it is the steelers way to bring the rooks along slowly and then cash in once they prove they are deserving of a second contract. its been that way for years.

It's hard for me to understand why the front office would invest two 1st round picks in the last 3 years at defensive end just to sit and watch Kiesel and Smith struggle at their position and at the same time neglect our DB's and Oline to the point in which we are at now.

Seems like we passed up quite a few players that would have made an immediate impact.

Very good point on Hood getting after the QB last year. Who knows if the d struggles up front there could be some changes along the line...maybe.
