NOTES -- The Steelers also won the Super Bowl of NFL merchandise, leading the other 31 teams in sales for the fiscal year that ended March 31, according to an NFL spokesman. It's the first time they finished No. 1 in 26 years, since shortly after they won the Super Bowl in January 1980. The league tracks everything that is sold that has a team logo on it, from jerseys to key chains. The Philadelphia Eagles, No. 1 last year, finished second, only the third time since sales figures were first kept in 1979 that two teams from the same state finished 1-2. The rest of the top 10: 3. Oakland Raiders, 4. Dallas Cowboys 5. New England Patriots, 6. Green Bay Packers, 7. Indianapolis Colts, 8. Chicago Bears, 9. New York Giants, 10. Denver Broncos. No sales figures were available.

I'm still doing my part for their sales. I had an early father's day gift arrive yesterday. It was ordered by my wife, but the package had my name on it. Inside was a new Steelers polo dress shirt and a Steelers watch. :o)

It's okay if they are bandwagoners. The thing that surprised me about the list is the small market teams (i.e. Pittsburgh, Indy, especially GB) in the top 10. Also, if I'm not mistaken, merchandising is NOT part of the CBA, so the owners benefit greatly from the merchandising proceeds.

Well, when your team wins the Super Bowl your bound to pick up a couple bandwagon fans. It's inevitable for any team.
