Default 3 kids - 2 mothers...that's productive

Coolong's interview with Jim Wexell revealed that little secret which was conveniently swept under the carpet during the draft sweepstakes. At least kept secret in this forum. What? Nobody knew in here?

Now in retro-retrospect I have come back to my original No. 1 pick. This kitten Holmes is going to be a disaster. And the audacity of painting LenDale White as an undeserving First Rounder because of character issues may be haunting if Verron is the only RB who shows up this year. We had a chance to rectify future needs at tailback.

Cowher and Colbert have been nearly flawless in the draft. What are the glaring flaws????

Picking receivers in the first round. Please say it isn't so!!!!!!!!!!! History repeats?

Sorry. I'm a little angered by this - 3 kids at 22 by two mothers and not married. Yeah he's fast alright.

Man I think you are jumping the gun way to early with Santonio Holmes. Yea he made a mistake and was arrested. Yea he has 3 kids at 22 by two different women and isn't married. But I'm not ready to knock Holmes yet. He is a human being and he has made some mistakes. It sounds to me that Santonio just needs to grow up a little bit. I think he will learn from his mistakes and will be fine.

HMMMM I would be lying if I said that didnt concern me...but I still dont know enough to form an educated opinion...Did he have a kid when he was younger by one female and now has two with a lady that he is committed to? Has he accepted responsiblity (in time and money) for all his children?
I have NO doubts that Cowher and his minions have looked far deeper into this situation then we ever could...and am confident that they saw nothing that definately worried them beyond the ability to bring him aboard. I am soooo glad that I am not judged by the character of a 20 year old me!!!

I knew he had children from two different women when he was at Ohio State.

He'll be fine... the kid can play football.

Who are you to say that because some one has 3 kids by 2 different women they are going to be a disaster on the football field. That is not for you to determine or judge. When he is playing football (which is what he was brought her to do) then you can judge his play. Other then that its none of your business.

He's ready, Steelers fans. His ordeal over, his return will be complete come Saturday in Arizona, when football again becomes the focus and a career briefly interrupted resumes.

Santonio has always taken care of his responsibilities with his children which is the biggest reason he came out a year early. If you're really interested in his past and his character maybe you should google his name and do some research rather than form an opinion with the Cliff Notes version. When you do that you'll feel bad, or at least you should, about slamming someone before you know if in fact he DOES take responsibility for the life he's created. Children shouldn't be referred to as mistakes, IMHO.

Plus Santonio made sure his three younger brothers were fed and got them ready for school since their mother had to leave for work at the 3 a.m. So Santonio is responsible. He just isn't perfect. But last time I checked I don't think any of us are perfect. This is another reason why the season needs to start. By the time it does and Holmes is making plays on the field. Him being arreseted will have been long forgotten.

My expectations are for him to be a contributor in the community as well as the football field. His mom worked the fields in Belle Glade Florida, you don't think she instilled work ethic in this guy? Humility and being gracious are also important and he's exhibited those qualities consistantly with Ohio State so I don't expect see a change in him in that regard.

L.T. was coked up all the time. I think he was an asset on the field for the Giants to say the least.
