Default Suggs vs. Starks

Terrell Suggs has built up some pretty gaudy stats against the Steelers. Most of them have come during Ravens losses, but he's played well and has seemed to wreak some havoc in our backfield in recent memory.

One could contribute this to poor o-line play as many think the Steelers O-Line is below average. Valid point. But, I dug into some stats over the past 5 years and came up with this.

Suggs has racked up 14.5 sacks in the 11 games played between the 2 teams since 2007, including playoff games. Very Good.

Max Starks has been the Steelers starter in 6 of these 11 games. In the 6 games Max has started Suggs has only gotten 5 total sacks or less than 1 per game. Very Average.

He's racked up 9.5 sacks in the other 5 games against our 2nd and even 3rd string left tackle.

He's going up against a slimmed down, healthy Max on Sunday and I think Max holds him to 1 or none this weekend. Suggs is good, no doubt. But maybe all these inflated stats are because of being the beneficiary of going against backups.

I don't know where u got that info on tackles allowing sacks from
But Suggs rushes from all over the field not just on the LT
Interior linemen and RT r also responsible for some of those sacks

He's good, but those stats kinda tell it how it is. He has racked up sacks while facing some of the worst LT's in football. He's good enough to still get past Starks a few times, and maybe good enough to get around Starks and the back who is picking up the blitz once or twice, but he won't be terrorizing the backfield like week 1. One sack at the most this game.

With Ngata banged up (though probable) and the Steelers' offensive line much better than it was week 1, I honestly think that Suggs will be pretty well marginalized in this game.

I'll be shocked if Suggs doesn't get Ben 1 to 2 times - I don't care though - as long as Ben stays healthy and doesn't turn it over - Ben isn't looking over his shoulder as much anymore which bodes well for our black and gold . . . my only gripe (and I'm nitpicking) is that he needs to learn to throw it away

Starks vs Suggs is a much more favorable match up for us than Scott vs Suggs. Suggs will probably have a sack or so but I don't see him having the monster game he did week 1 either.
