Default This Made Me Laugh

Colt McCoy's daddy comes to his rescue?

I was on NFL's website and seen this and couldn't help but laugh. I understand parents being aware of their kids injuries but really? He blasted the Browns for putting his son in danger?

Could anyone imagine Big Ben's dad publicly criticizing the Steelers staff and medical team for letting him come back on the field? Oh my god this is so damn funny.

How do you expect fans and the league to take you seriously when your dad is coming to your rescue? You could have sat, you could have said "I can't see straight or I just can't go I would hurt my team"

I love this...anyone else?

it's the equivalent of Ben's wife talking to the media following Ben coming into the game with the ankle injury

"I can't believe they let Ben come back in the game - Ben isn't mature enough to have understood what he was doing and it couldn't have possibly been his idea to come back"

I have been saying this for a week now. Just like the Longhorn finally when Daddy came running down, lol.

this family is a joke.

Watch the replay on the sideline.. Do you see any concussion testing going on? He was on the sideline for 90 seconds, they were wrapping his hand.
McCoy said he didnt rememebr the hit, look at his face on the sideline, his face looks like he doesnt remember the hit, lol
Shurmur is an idiot, the Browns are idiots and like Archie Manning and his mouth, McCoys father is an idiot.

Ward and Troy both were accessed much longer when they came out.

Hey Daddy McCoy, don't worry abotu junior, he won't be a starter for to long anyway, lol. You wont have to worry about him getting hit in a real game, and practices now are only 1 day with pads on anyway. He will be fine. The hayseed isn't to smart anyway.

Mannings dad, now McCoy's dad...
Sheez.
One big difference is that the McCoy family really believes that he's a "superstar" in the making (i've heard them speak before).
Boy are they delusional. Even as bad as the Browns are, i don't think he's their 'future' either.. He's just not that good.....

True Dat, but ones superstar daddy, just shot his son in the foot with his comments. lol Now both day and son have a foot problem, one with it inserted into his mouth, the other with a gunshot wound, lol

They would be stupid to take Luck and leave Manning even with a flexible cap. Manning to a weak dumb team still brings a potential 1st rounder. They need to rebuild the team, not just ad a qb. Getting a 1 and a 2 and another 1 for Manning would help.

Browns, Jets, Titans, Fins, Jags. Honestly he probably fits great with the Jets, and they are strong enough to give up a 1 or 1, 1's to get him. The probably with the Jets is, the QB is to busy with 17 yearolds and their moms. Not to mention swallows the apple during key games or key times in games.

its the Napoleon personality at its best

McCoy's stature reminds me of Doug Flutie - except McCoy's attitude stinks lately whereas Flutie is a lot more lovable. I actually felt bad for McCoy until his recent shady attitude about the hit. How the heck does he not remember the hit if immediately after he came back Harrison went up to him and apologized. The announcers even noticed it. I get not remembering all the little details - but to say he doesn't remember anything at all is complete B.S. and the well timed statements by his dad AFTER Harrison is getting chewed out by the media is not a coincidence

It was no shock to hear the analysts say how discouraged and defeated he has been and it shows very plainly on his face. I hope the NFL is not turning into the NBA where the players are going to have free reign and dictate where they want to go. Smug little jerks shouldn't complain there way off a team and certainly shouldn't be acting like they deserve to have everything from the start. Being part of an NFL team and especially being the QB means you have to grow up and become a leader - start taking the team on your shoulders and work with your receivers. Throw the tomatoes my way, but Tebow is a fine example of a great attitude and he by no means has great receivers to work with. Yes - apples to oranges, McCoy has been expect to throw more but you know what when we boil it down McCoy just seems like a brat in comparison. Hell, Cam Newton could be whining about being with the lowly Panthers, but all he does is stay positive and play. A smart QB will realize that if he does everything in his power to play up to his potential, the pieces will fall into place - just be patient.

Don't think for one second the McCoys aren't trying to find any opportunity to get him out of Cleveland.

Opportunity to get out of Cleveland? They wer elucky they picked him. lol

Look around the league, all the teams are starting their #1 picks, starting qb spots are drying up. This years draft will yield 3-r more. There is no room for mccoy other than a back up he will still retire a millionaire in 10 years backing up somebody

doesn't mean they aren't trying

I don't think McCoy enjoys all the losing they've been doing and they've actually regressed as an offense since last year

He's done quite a bit of chirping considering he is only a 2nd yr guy - he constantly brings up about having to switch from playing in Texas to playing in the cold AFC North division - awe, poor wittle guy is cooooold

his demeanor in interviews and on the sidelines has gotten progressively worse. Ask Brady Quinn if he is happy to get the heck out of Cleveland. Sure - he is backing up, and sure, he had aspirations of starting but maybe McCoy realizes he isn't among winners

All im going to say on that topic is. Colt should have NEVER came back in that game. Did you see the look in his eyes, he had no clue what was going on. It was very dumb for the Browns staff to let him go back on to the field. Just imagine if he got lit up again, i honestly think he would have been in a coma. Im not a concussion expert by no means but you could just see something was right when you saw his eyes.

To be fair, his father has a point (though he probably shouldn't have made it public). This was a meaningless game for the Browns. If it had been a meaningless game for the Steelers, I would have been pissed about Ben playing after his injury as well.

There was absolutely no reason at all for him to be back in the game.
