Poll results: Harrison suspension justified?
December, 16, 2011

By Jamison Hensley

In a SportsNation poll that drew 11,000 voters, over half of the responses say the one-game suspension of Steelers linebacker James Harrison was too severe.

Harrison was suspended on Tuesday for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Browns quarterback Colt McCoy, who is expected to miss Sunday's game as a result of that shot. His appeal was denied Friday.

He has previously been fined six times in a two-year period for illegal hits and unnecessary roughness. But this marks the first time that he's been fined this season.

Harrison becomes the first player to get suspended under the NFL's enhanced enforcement of player safety violations.
Here are the poll results:

Was James Harrison's one-game suspension fair?

No, it should have been less severe: 51 percent

Yes, it was fair: 28 percent

No, it should have been more severe: 21 percent

Pretty sure Steelers fans skewed the results of the poll but that's good to see regardless.

yeah, i don't really believe that... fans of other teams have for the most part done nothing but cry and whine about how he should be suspended longer or kicked out of the league. of course everyone outside of Steelers and Ravens fans want to see this league become an outdoor arena football league, so it's understandable.
