COACH BILLICK: "To reiterate what Ozzie was saying, our coaches, players, organization as a whole, our faith in Jamal and the kind of person he is is unqualified. The character that he's shown through a very difficult period of time, I'm counting on him bringing that resolve to the team. There's no question what he will do for us this year on the field, but off the field, not only for his teammates but for the community. I've seen Jamal interact in our community. He is going to be a viable part of our community. He is going to be an example for the youth of our community, if for no other reason to communicate with them his experiences in a way that only someone like Jamal can with the young people of our community, as he has done for the last five years in Baltimore; he has stepped up to that responsibility and that accountability in a very positive way.

"For us, as a football team going forward, so from the professional side, Jamal obviously is making himself available today. We clearly, as does Jamal, want to put this behind us. He has paid that price. He'll be as open and forthright as he can. For us as an organization, this will be a time to move on from and we will move forward. Whatever Jamal chooses to do personally from this point forward in terms of interacting with media and talking with you, we will support, certainly. But from the standpoint of the organization, this is it for us. We hope to answer all the questions we can going forward, but when Jamal comes back to us and is on the field, this is clearly behind us.

"And we respect and understand that there will be questions you may want to ask in the future, but for us, this is kind of the defining line for us that we are going to move forward. So I would ask that you at least understand our perspective. Again, we understand there may be times that you may have to bring in a different perspective or may want to ask some questions. We hope that you can have respect for us that there has been accountability and that we are going to go forward from this point on and think only about the future."

The character that he's shown through a very difficult period of time, I'm counting on him bringing that resolve to the team. There's no question what he will do for us this year on the field, but off the field, not only for his teammates but for the community. : go to jail cause you need it to make you a better person

Let me rephrase my last statement.. it all depends on how much money you have and if you are a celebrity...

maybe if Carruth had been wearing purple, he could have learned the tricks of the trade from the other ratbirds, since so many of them have so much practice w/ it!
