Yep. I've just infracted a couple users in there. Please do not click on any of the links that they've posted.

i have been around different forums for years and i have never seen spam like this. i run a board that has a min of 15,000 users online anytime of the day and it dosnt even get hit this hard. i have no clue how this started but we will get it under control.

as for reporting, if there is spam in a post and not started as a thread we do miss it and reporting it will help.

As of right now, i'm able to infract users. I'll hopefully be able to further help by being able to delete posts and threads sometime soon, i've been told their working on getting me that ability.

I must say this is the worst spam problem i've ever encountered too. I've moderated and owned several forums and websites, but this is bad. But it's nothing we can't control, and control it we'll do.

one actually posted spam in this very spam thread.

its like when youre carrying a flyswatter to kill that pesky fly and the fly lands on the swatter as you are holding it.

the logical thing to do would be to change the registration format. like typing in a code to get rid of bots. a 24 hour waiting period before you can post. set a minimum number of posts before you can start a thread . all this would also deter some trolls and idiots who sign up just to piss and moan the day of a loss...

Captcha. However, the board owner would probably have to pay for a decent captcha service. I won't get too much into that

lol...i couldn't think of the word...

Free CAPTCHA generator - form protection service in just 2 simple steps
Hassle free CAPTCHA service. No registration required and very easy to use: only one line of code in your form and only one test on form submission. Works with any server-side scripting language. The CAPTCHA generator itself is written in PHP.
